Hazmat Transport Driver Permit (HTDP)

Course Overview

This course is meant for the drivers involved in the transportation and handling of hazardous materials on Singapore roads.

Course Objectives

  • Explain the 9 classes of hazardous substances and their identification
  • Explain the purpose of legislation requirements on the transportation of hazardous materials
  • Explain the roles and responsibilities of their drivers in any emergency
  • Learn about Transportation Emergency Response Plan and emergency procedure guide
  • Explain the basic principles on the chemistry of fire
  • Know more about basic fire fighting
  • Have more knowledge about practical training on fire extinguisher

Who Should Attend

Drivers who transport and handle hazardous materials.

Pre-Requisites

NTUC LearningHub will need to clear the trainees particulars with Central Enforcement Department (CED) under SCDF at least 3 weeks before the start of course. Thus, enrolments will be closed 3 weeks before the course date.

Medium of Instruction & Trainer : Trainee Ratio

Medium of Instruction: English

Trainer to trainee ratio: 1 : 40

Mode of Assessment

  • 30 mins theory assessment, comprising a total of 30 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
  • Passing criteria is 50%
  • If a candidate fails, he is allowed a 2nd attempt (on a different set) on the same day

Certification Obtained and Conferred by

Upon passing a theory test, participants will receive a Statement of Test Results.

This will enable them to apply for a Hazardous Materials Transport Driver Permit (HTDP) from the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF).

Funding Information

Skills Development Fund (SDF) and SkillsFuture Funding:

  • Participants must attend at least 75% of the course, complete the exam with a pass or competent result.
  • Online applications are not applicable for companies applying funding with Absentee Payroll.
  • Workforce Training Support (WTS) funding only applies to trainee who is 35 years old and above with a monthly income of $1,900 and below.

 

For Company Registration:

  • Customers who are applying funding for trainee(s), please submit Training Grant applications in SkillsConnect website before registration.
  • Training Grant number is to be submitted together with the registrations.
  •  Payment for the course must be using company cheque or via GIRO.
