Chemical Safety Awareness Course

Course Overview

At the end of the course, participants will be familiar with:

  • Legislative requirements related to safe chemical handling to prevent workplace accidents
  • Chemical hazards and their associated risks
  • Safe work practices and emergency procedures when handling chemicals

Who Should Attend

Chemical / lab personnel, safety personnel or employees who are involved in the handling of hazardous substances in chemical plants or electronics and manufacturing industries.

Course Duration

7 hours, include 1 hour of assessment.

  • New Workplace Health and Safety Act (WSHA) Framework and legal requirements
  • Overview of chemical hazards and their associated risks
  • Risk assessment process
  • Safe work practices for chemical handling, transporting, storage and disposal
  • Chemical emergency response procedures

There will be a MCQ assessment.

Certification Obtained and Conferred by

Upon completion of the course, a Certification of Competency endorsed by NTUC LearningHub will be issued to all participants.
